Scandi style
This blog gives quite a nice overview of Scandinvian ceramics that might interest you. Odette, see bottom for some Japanese websites. There is an interesting crossover between Scandi and Asian style.

I stumbled across the blog when trying to find something else that I'm struggling to describe: a type of retro ceramic vase that is folded in a geometric fashion.

I had thought that the term Origami style might come up trumps but it hasn't really. There was a lovely white one on one of the Scandinavian websites that you sent me. Unfortunately, I don't really know which site any more.

New Start: klc 2014

After catching up on our Christmas news, Odette and Haven talked about how we might structure our meetings this year. Bowhaus couldn't join us because she was waiting for the delivery of a beautiful drawing table!! Pictures! Please feel free to add your thoughts and goals :-)

Purpose of our meetings:

  • Before every meeting we would like to communicate what we would like to discuss and what we have to contribute. This could be actual work, or any materials related to the course that we'd like to share. 1 week before we meet.
  • Use the meetings as an incentive to set and achieve goals.
  • Feedback, Inspiration, Ideas, Information, Motivation
Haven's goal:
  • Haven would like to do at least one sub-section of Project Two each month.
  • Use time schedule/ calendar KLC
  • Enter blogposts

Odette's goal:
  • Start Module 2, project 2.1: have a sample existing of four colours and matching materials
  • Visit sites and source materials
  • Enter blogposts
Next meeting: tbd
Suggestion: At the end of the meeting write a Blogpost together, recording our progress.

Tip of the day:

Haven started to draw in her sketchbook and her goals is: One drawing a day!

Clare Basler

Just came across this somewhere online and thought I'd add a little post about her and a link.

Clare Basler is a French painter of flowers!!! But they are lovely paintings and she lives in a beautiful apartment, full of the mountains of fresh flowers she buys daily to fill her cheerful and colourful home.

This is not my usual style....very feminine, but her work and home are lovely....take a look and see what you think here
